The Science of Mineral Magic "mind blowing" energy at our fingertips and the forgotten technology that could revolutionize our world.

A post came across facebook today about quartz crystals and it inspired the following comments I wanted to post and preserve here.

QUARTZ CRYSTAL has long been popular among magical and spiritual types. There are many grandiose claims about them but one thing which remains consistent is that they can be used to transmit magical energy and can alter vibrations in one way or another. Quartz is piezoelectric, meaning it can literally transform physical energy into electric energy and vice-verse that's why they use it in watches.

If you want to see for your self, take two quartz crystals, turn out the lights, press them firmly together and rub them vigorously against one another, you will see light. This is not the same as throwing sparks with flint and steel, which is actually super-heated shards of metal, this is piezoelectricity, physical energy being instantly transformed into electric energy right in front of you. Before we knew what electricity was, some would have called it "magic"

Let's run with this for a moment shall we?

COPPER has long been considered a great conductor of magical energy reaching far back into ancient history.

Copper is also a fine electrical conductor.

SILVER has always been considered a great conductor of magical energy, one of the best

Silver is has the highest electrical conductivity of all metals

IRON was believed not only to conduct but even to HOLD magical and spiritual energy, allowing swords to contain "souls" and be "blessed" or "charmed" by magic

Iron is both electrically conductive and can be imbued with and hold a magnetic charge.

TIN was associated with Jupiter and therefore used to attract money, wealth and spiritual blessings.

Tin is is paramagnetic, it attracts a magnet but does not hold a charge.

LEAD was associated with Pluto and believed, therefore, to nullify spiritual and magical forces or to block them

Lead is non-conductive, diamagnetic (repels a magnetic charge) and insulates even against radiation.

Now let's look at what we have observed. What do ELECTRICITY, MAGNETISM and RADIATION have in common? They are all INVISIBLE energies which INTERACT with the PHYSICAL WORLD and can be HARNESSED even DIRECTED by humans using the right TECHNOLOGY to AFFECT THE PHYSICAL WORLD.

And what is magic? it is invisible energy being harnessed and directed by human technology to affect the physical world.

Is it so hard to believe that there is another invisible energy which has not been thoroughly researched yet and is therefore not well understood yet many theories surrounding said energy still exist based on observations that people have been making since forever? Is it so hard to believe that humans, not fully understanding this energy, would call it "magic"

what I find "mind blowing" is that people still deny the existence of magic in spite of centuries worth of observations. It had been found to work on certain principles and behave according to certain laws and parameters and has been used to produce certain results. The fact that those results are sometimes inconsistent does not disprove it's existence, only proves that our understanding of it is not complete. I been saying for years, if people would just study it seriously they would find at lest one, if not several new forms of energy and expand and advance our technology by leaps and bounds.

Scientists have been so focused on discovering new forms of matter, the stuff that is created and destroyed, but have neglected to look for new forms of energy, the stuff that actually runs everything and does not "live" or "die" some might even call it "spirit" and "soul"

They experiment with particles all the time, but what of the energy behind them? Plato developed a theory long ago that the material world (matter) was a reflection of "ideal forms" ie energy and quantum physics now shows us that matter is mostly nothing but empty space with particles moving at specific vibrations and held together by invisible forces. There it is again, "vibration" and "invisible forces" more magic talk. Everything comes back to that, but nobody wants to acknowledge it.
