Carmelite Water VS Invega (paliperidone). Firsthand Experience With A Natural Alternative to Anxiety and Depression Treatment.

So last night I went "off my meds" and used Carmelite Water (an old world remedy contrived by the nuns of Carmel) instead. It was the first night in a YEAR that I slept without taking the hypnotic drug and anti-hystamine diphenhydramine (benedryl) and today is the first day I haven't needed an infusion of caffeine to get going in the morning. If it wasn't obvious, this is bad for you. Constantly taking antihystamines wrecks your immune system and caffeine is just a bad, bad drug, in case you never figured that out from the dependencies upon it that so many Americans make light of. Can't take the day, the stress, the people without than morning cup? Guess what, crackheads feel the same way about their rocks. Just need it to get you going in the morning? So do meth addicts. Like it or not, it is all the same. Habitual use of stimulants messes with your body's natural cycles and does have a lot of side effects, this is as true for coffee and soda as it is for any other drug and YES caffeine IS A DRUG! ... and so is this mess they had me taking.

16 days ago I began taking Invega, a drug that was supposed to treat my alleged schizoaffective disorder. In truth, I was told many years ago that I had this and have always managed it exceptionally well on my own, BOTH the opinion of a professional psychotherapist. What I have "suffered" are occasional bouts of depression or anxiety with a load of "intrusive thoughts"  running around in my head at any given time which are more an annoying inconvenience than anything. The nurse told me to take Invega daily and, get this, to continue using benedryl to sleep... so wtf is the point?

Well, apparently the point was to make me clumsy (loss of balance) sleepy (all day, except when it was time to actually go to bed) and impotent (TMI be damned I've never gone 2 weeks without an orgasm and it is severely distressing) and I can't help but wonder if the aim of these drugs is not really the later and the true motive is not simply chemical castration of all us "crazies"

But, to be fair, here is how Invega is supposed to work. It restricts your dopamine, the hormone responsible for the feelings you get from "reward based behavior" in short, it is the thing that makes you feel good, especially when doing good stuff. Dopamine and seratonin are the things that are attacked by drugs for the "psychotic" and depressed, which is why depression is one of the side effects, you get depressed when you have restricted happy hormones. DUH! ...but still being fair, the effect is supposed to regulate your hormonal cycles and get you back to a point of "normal" because, theoretically, the reason we are all crazy is that we have too much of ":the good stuff" in our system and we become numb to it eventually never feeling happy at all regardless of what happens. That part at least makes sense, but why all the side effects and is it REALLY worth it to have to take the stuff every day for something you only experience sometimes?

Now, here's how Carmelite water works- it contains natural herbs, namely melissa and angelica, which work in tandem to reduce anxiety and regulate hormones. Angelica does not BLOCK anything, it simply helps bring them into balance. Melissa contains terpenes which have been used in quelling anxiety in medical marijuana patients. The actions of both herbs have been proven in multiple studies. The other ingredients in Carmelite water work with other chemical components in Melissa to fight viruses, break fevers, and lift the dark cowl of depression. The entire formula is synergystic every component working with the next to improve overall effectiveness of the whole.

More importantly, in my case, the tincture can be taken "as needed" rather than all the time and has none of the unpleasant side effects. The carmenative properties even kept my acid reflux from flaring up in the night. For the later purposes a lower dose of about a teaspoon is enough but for serious insomnia and anxiety I recommend tripling that dose and taking it traditionally in a glass of white wine or beer depending on whether you are a "cold " (water or earth) sign or a "hot" (air or fire) sign as I believe the drug works with the alcohol (and maybe the hops in beer) to induce sleep. You may wonder what the heck astrology has to do with how drugs work on you, I say just don't mess with a good thing and wait for science to figure it out. There are a lot of things science knows to be fact but has not yet worked out the whys and wherefores so try not to lose sleep over it ;)
